CGM Detective: read a CGM graph
Read a day of sensor graphs and find out what made glucose go up and down.
🎮 How to play
- Look at the day's glucose graph: the green band is the target range.
- Drag each card (breakfast, football, insulin…) onto the numbered part of the graph it explains.
- Food makes the line go up, sport and insulin bring it down, and at night it stays quite flat.
- Check the clock under the graph: it tells you which meal it is!
Controls: Touch or mouse: drag a card onto a number, or tap a card then tap a number. Keyboard: Tab to a card, Enter to pick it, then 1–6 to place it.
🧠 What you'll learn
- How to read a glucose sensor graph
- Meals make glucose go up; sport and insulin bring it down
- A fast sugar brings a low back up
For grown-ups: The graphs are made up and simplified: real sensor curves change from day to day and from child to child. The game uses the common 70–180 mg/dL (3.9–10 mmol/L) target range; your child’s team may use a different one.
